How much time do pilots need to rest, know what will be the benefit of increasing the time

Made some improvements related to ‘rest period’. After which the pilots will get extra time to rest. But today we will tell you how much time the aircraft crew and pilot need for rest.

How many hours of rest will be given

Under the new rules, pilots and crew will get 48 hours of rest every week. In the first week, we got only 36 hours of rest. Now the flight crew will get more time to rest. Whereas in the existing rules, the time from midnight to 5 in the morning was called whole night, but in the new rules, the time from midnight to 6 in the morning will be considered as night. According to the new rule, every airline will have to submit crew fatigue report to DGCA every three months. Airlines will also have to follow the privacy policy while preparing flight crew fatigue report.

Flight duty duration reduced from 13 hours to 10 hours

DGCA has reduced the maximum flight duty period for pilots working at night from 13 hours to 10 hours. At the same time, the number of flight landings during night operations has been reduced from six to two. Let us tell you that the revised rules of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation match the rules of America and European Union.

Pilots will get relief

New rules to come. After this, pilots and crew members will get physical rest. This will keep them more healthy. It is noteworthy that in August last year, an Indigo pilot died of a sudden heart attack at Nagpur airport, minutes before operating the flight. The new rule will provide relief to airport employees.
