How Ramanujan used to solve difficult problems, why is Mathematics Day celebrated on his birthday?

Mathematics Day is celebrated every year today i.e. on 22nd December. Mathematics Day is celebrated on the birthday of Ramanujan. Now the question is why Mathematics Day is celebrated on the birthday of the great mathematician Ramanujan. Today we will tell you the story behind this.

Birth of the great mathematician Ramanujan

Let us tell you that on 22 December 1887, a baby was born in Erode, Tamil Nadu. Who was later known throughout the world as a great mathematician. The name of this person was Srinivas Ramanujan. He proved his greatness in mathematics at an early age. Not only this, he gave new formulas of mathematics. It is said that he used to get so engrossed in solving mathematical problems and giving new formulas that he even forgot to eat and drink. However, during this period, sometimes a solution was found and sometimes it was not.

The condition of the family was not good

The financial condition of Ramanujan’s family was not good. His father worked at a clothes shop. His devout mother used to sing bhajans in the temple. The Prasad received from the temple was enough to cover one meal at home, but for the other meals the family was dependent on the father’s earnings. Many times it would happen that Ramanujan’s family would be able to get only one meal a day. Ramanujan’s childhood was spent in poverty.

Mathematicians

Let us tell you that Ramanujan had started showing his extraordinary talent in mathematics since childhood. Not only this, when the poor parents did not have the money to buy more copies, Ramanujan would first solve the mathematics questions on the slate and then write the final answers directly on the copy, so that the copy does not fill up quickly.  p>

International paper was published

Srinivasa Ramanujan had spread his mathematical theories to the world. He published his first paper in 1911. Not only this, during his time at Cambridge he was trained by the British mathematician GH Hardy, who encouraged him to publish his findings in several papers. After this, in 1918, Ramanujan became the second Indian to be elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society.

When did the celebration of National Mathematics Day begin?

Former Prime Minister of India, Dr. Manmohan Singh. National Mathematics Day was declared in the name of great mathematician Srinivas Ramanujan. To honor his mathematical contribution, Mathematics Day has been started every year since 2012 on his birthday i.e. 22 December. He died on 26 April 1920 at the age of 32.  Also read:How long can astronaut Sunita Williams stay in space?  What does science say
