Potato tikki is very popular as an Indian street food, as well as it is liked to be prepared and eaten at home. Aloo Tikki can be eaten during the day or as a snack in the evening. Ingredients to make Aloo Tikki
Potatoes boiled – 4
Corn flour – 2 tbsp
Ginger-garlic paste – 1 tbsp
Green chili – 1-2
Green coriander – 2-3 tbsp
Cumin powder – 1/2 tsp
Chaat masala – 1/2 tsp
Turmeric – 1/4 tsp
Kashmiri red chili – 1/2 tsp
Mint – 2 tbsp
Dry mango – 1/2 tsp
Oil – for frying
salt – as per taste
Potato Tikki Recipe
To make potato tikki, first boil the potatoes and then peel them and grate them. Now finely chop green chillies and coriander. After this, take a big mixing bowl and put grated potatoes in it. After this add ginger-garlic paste, turmeric, red chili powder, finely chopped green chilies to the potatoes and mix well.
Now add cumin powder, dried mango powder, chaat masala and salt as per taste to the mixture and mix well. After this add chopped coriander and mint to it and mix. Then add 2 tbsp corn flour to the mixture and mix it well with potatoes. In case of non-availability of corn flour, rice flour or poha powder can also be used.
Now make this mixture soft by mashing it well with the help of hand. Then apply some oil in your hands and prepare balls by taking little by little mixture and pressing it with both the palms give it the shape of a tikki. Similarly make tikkis from all the mixture and keep them in a plate.

Now put oil in a pan and heat it. After the oil is hot, put potato tikki in it and deep fry. If you want, you can also shallow fry it by putting it on the griddle. Fry the potato tikkis till golden and crisp, then take them out in a plate. Similarly fry all the potato tikkis. Tasty potato tikki is ready. Serve it by adding green chutney and tamarind chutney.
