How To Select Perfect Preschool: Selecting a pre-school is not easy. The child goes away from his home and the safety of his parents for the first time. Adjusting to a new place is as difficult for the child as it is for the parents. Is the school good, are the teachers good, will the child be safe? These and many such questions come to the mind of parents. Today we will discuss about these points that should be considered while selecting a pre-school for the child.
Distance from home
When it comes to getting your child admitted, try to ensure that the school is not too far from home. Even if you have to get him admitted in a less good or bigger school, do not look for a place where the child will have to spend hours just to commute. It is not right to give him such stress at the first time.
Faculty and Supporting Staff
At this time, children have different needs which are not just studies. They should learn new things while playing, learn to be independent to some extent by staying away from home and learn to get along with friends. Pre-schools have different needs. Check how experienced the teachers are there, for how many years they have been there and what is their patience level with other children.
Along with this, find out about the supporting staff as well. Do check the staff-child ratio, otherwise sometimes the children are sitting wet, sometimes they keep crying and there is no one to take care of them.

How is the infrastructure
At this age, it is important that children get maximum space and options for playing and maximum opportunities for activities. Look at the school from this perspective. Find out what games are there, what is the level of cleanliness, how is everything from the playground to the library and computer lab.
Check out the certification
Also find out if the school is recognized or not. The school should be affiliated to any board. Find out if they are fulfilling the standards of the things they are claiming. Another way is to visit their website and see if the information given there is correct or wrong.

Safety is very important
It is not easy to leave your child alone for several hours for the first time. Do a thorough investigation about the safety there. In the younger classes, there is generally no male staff (except for security), check to what extent the male staff has access in your child’s school. Are CCTVs installed there or not and whether they work or not. Also check what is the school’s preparation for emergencies (including medical).
Talk to older parents
The best way to know about a school is to talk to the parents of the children who are already studying there. Find out how transparent the process is from admission to fees. If possible, get your child to attend trial classes for a few days and observe from outside how they teach and how the rest of the staff behaves. It is also important that the school is reputed.
