What will happen if the government falls?

Many types of provisions have been made in the One Nation One Election Bill. There is also a provision in this that if the government falls due to no-confidence motion or any other reason, then what will be done in such a situation. According to the provision, in such a situation, mid-term elections will be held again in that state. But the tenure of the new assembly will be only till the next Lok Sabha elections. Apart from this, the Election Commission has also been instructed in the bill that all the necessary requirements should be fulfilled before conducting the elections. The Election Commission will also have to make arrangements for EVMs and VVPAT in advance.

What does the bill say?

According to the provision written in the bill, if the Lok Sabha or the Assembly has to be dissolved midway, then mid-term elections will be held for the remaining period of five years. There is also a proposal to include Articles 82 (A), 172 and 327 in the Bill. Let us tell you that there is a provision in 82 (A) to hold simultaneous elections for Lok Sabha and Assembly. Apart from this, there is a provision for the tenure of the Houses of Parliament in Article 83. Apart from this, it has also been said in the legislation that after the general elections, only the President will announce when the elections will be held simultaneously. However, according to information, 2029 Lok Sabha elections It will be conducted like before, after that One Nation One Election will be implemented.
