Khandva. In a village of Jawar police station area of Khandwa district of Madhya Pradesh, a 16-year-old boy caught a thief who had entered the house. When caught, the thief said that he had come to play hide and seek.
The incident took place in Jawar village on Tuesday, when a thief entered the house of an old woman to steal. The old woman was working in the field, and her 16-year-old grandson returned home from the field. When the grandson opened the lock of the house, he found the thief behind the door. The grandson took the thief’s photo in his mobile and asked the thief why he had come into the house. The thief replied that he had come to play hide and seek.
Thief ran away, jewelery and cash kept in the house were found missing
When the child asked the thief whose house he had come to in the village, the thief tried to run away by pushing him. During this time the thief took away the gold and silver jewelery and cash kept in the house. The child narrated this incident to the family, after which they reached home and found that the jewelery and money were missing.
Police arrested the accused
The family members lodged a report at Jawar police station with the help of the 16-year-old boy. Jawar police arrested the accused Shubham. During police interrogation, the accused told that with the stolen money he bought liquor worth Rs 400 and repaid a loan of Rs 1200. The accused also said that he is a 12th class student and steals to fulfill his hobbies.
Increase in theft cases, alert on social media
Many cases of theft had come to light in Jawar, Rangaon and Rohini, due to which the local people were already alert. The villagers were also alerted through social media, as a result of which a thief was caught.

According to local resident Ashwin Sawale, people were already aware about the incidents of theft and this was the reason why the thief was caught. Police have registered a case of theft against the accused Shubham and the investigation of the case is going on.
