A new 26-bed ICU has been built in the medicine department of SN Medical College, Agra. It has the facility of ventilator and other advanced life saving equipment. This will make treatment of serious patients easier. Now the department has two ICUs of 40 beds each. They were inaugurated on Friday.
Principal Dr. Prashant Gupta told that a 14-bed ICU was being operated in the medicine department. Due to the high number of serious patients from the surrounding districts, there was difficulty in treating the patients. Due to this, a 26-bed ICU has been built in the clock building. There is a ventilator installed on every bed. Now there are 111 beds in ICU in SN. These include 40 beds in medicine, 36 in pediatrics department, 25 in surgery and 10 bedded ICU in emergency. Another 5-bed ICU is being built for the Thoracic and Tuberculosis department.
Head of the department, Dr. Mridul Chaturvedi said that the facility of ECG, Echo and other tests will also be available on the patientâs bed itself. Will start recruiting patients in a day or two. Head of Department Dr. Mridul Chaturvedi, Head of Radio Diagnostic Department Dr. Hari Singh, Dr. TP Singh, Dr. Manish Bansal, Dr. Vijay Singhal etc. were present on the occasion.
Monitoring of patients on a single screen through central monitoring system
In-charge of ICU unit, Dr. Ashish Gautam and co-in-charge Dr. Ajit Chahar told that preparations are being made to install ICU central monitoring system. With this, patient data of all beds can be monitored on a single screen. Due to this, if the condition of any patient worsens, we will be able to see him immediately. With this, there will be no need for much medical staff and the patient can be monitored better 24 hours a day.
