Actually, the trial of Vande Bharat train was going on in Gaya, Bihar. During this time, a person threw a stone at the train, due to which the window glass of a coach of Vande Bharat train broke.
However, this is not the first case. Even before this, stones have been thrown at trains many times in the country. Many people also get injured due to these stone pelting on trains. In such a situation, it is natural to raise the question that if a person is caught throwing stones at a moving train in India, then how much punishment will he get. Let us tell you under which law a person is punished in such cases.
Under which section action is taken
If a person throws stones at a moving train or tries to damage it in any way, then strict action is taken against him under section 153 of the Railway Act. If action is taken against someone under this section, then there is a provision of punishment up to 5 years if found guilty.

Incidents of stone pelting on trains
Many incidents of stone pelting on trains have taken place in the country in the past years. In March 2023, the Railways had also taken action against 39 people in this matter. In fact, in March 2023, stones were pelted on Vande Bharat trains at many places in Telangana. Especially in places like Kazipet, Khammam, Bhongir and Eluru-Rajahmundry, incidents of stone pelting were more. South Central Railway took these cases seriously and identified and arrested 39 people. According to the report of India Today, after the arrest of the accused, the Railway Protection Force i.e. RPF said that children up to 17 years of age were also included among the people arrested for stone pelting.
