The Bihar government has started land survey in more than 45,000 villages in the state. But now the question is that if someone does not have the papers of their ancestral land at the time of land survey, then what will happen to them? Today we will tell you how one can get his name registered on the papers at the time of survey on ancestral land.

Land Survey

First of all, let us understand what is land survey? Let us tell you that land survey has started in Bihar from 20 August. But common rural people have many questions about their land. On the other hand, those who have more land are afraid that the government may take away their land. Apart from this, some people are afraid that how will their name be registered on the ancestral land on which they have a right.

How will the name be registered?

During the land survey, most people are afraid that how will their name be registered on the ancestral land. Let us tell you that according to the government rules, the name of any dead person will not be registered in the land survey. The document of someone’s land is in the name of a person other than grandfather or great grandfather, who has died. In such a situation, the names of all the heirs of that person will be registered in the survey. For this, the genealogy passed by the Gram Sabha of the Panchayat will have to be attached. At the same time, the death certificate of the land owner is also mandatory.

Ancestral property

Apart from this, if there is ancestral property received from grandfather or great grandfather, which has not been divided. In such a situation, different names will not be registered in the land survey. Only those whose names are already present in the document will be registered in the land survey. If there is a dispute going on in the court regarding ancestral property, then the name of the current owner in the document will be entered in the survey, however, the court case number will also be recorded during this time. If the court’s decision comes later, the amendment will be made on that basis.

How to get the papers

Apart from this, if you do not have the land papers. If the land is ancestral, then you can get its name removed from the Khatian. If the land is registered, then that can be included in the survey. Apart from this, you will also have to get the genealogy prepared from the Panchayat. For this, five witnesses will also be needed. On the other hand, if there is no registry and information is not available in the Khatian, then if there is an old receipt related to the land, then that is also valid in the survey. In simple language, you will have to present any one proof of the land to the government.
