Chyawanprash Recipe: It becomes very important to take care of health during the winter season. If health is not taken care of properly then problems like cold, cough and fever start occurring. Keeping this in view, people make a lot of changes in their eating habits during this season. In this season, everyone from children to adults are advised to eat Chyawanprash.

Chyawanprash is an Ayurvedic medicine, the consumption of which provides strength and energy to the body. The main objective of Chyawanprash is to give strength to the body to fight diseases and improve overall health. Along with this, Chyawanprash contains Amla (rich source of Vitamin C), which strengthens immunity and prevents diseases like cold and cough.

Although Chyawanprash is available from many companies in the market, but if you do not trust the Chyawanprash from the market, then prepare it at home. Here we are going to tell you an easy method of making Chyawanprash at home.

Chyawanprash preparation material
Amla – 1 kg
Jaggery – 500 grams
Desi ghee – 100 grams
Dry ginger (dry ginger powder)- 2 teaspoons
Black pepper powder – 1 teaspoon
Cinnamon powder – 1 teaspoon
Cardamom powder- 1 teaspoon
Basil leaves – 10-15 (dry or fresh)
Saffron – 5-6 threads
Honey

Method of making Chyawanprash

It is quite easy to make Chyawanprash at home. For this, first of all wash the gooseberry thoroughly and cut it into small pieces. Boil them in 1 liter water until they become soft. After boiling properly, filter the water and grind the gooseberries in a mixer to make a paste.

After preparing Amla paste, add jaggery and some water in a pan and cook until it melts completely and becomes like syrup.

While it is melting, grind dry ginger, black pepper, cinnamon, and other spices separately. After this, heat ghee in a separate pan. Add amla paste in it and fry on low flame for 10-15 minutes.

Now add jaggery syrup, spice mixture and ground basil leaves and mix well. Cook this mixture on low flame while stirring continuously.

When this Chyawanprash becomes thick, turn off the flame. Finally, when the mixture cools down, add honey and saffron in it and mix. Now you can keep it in a glass bottle.
