The tradition of seeing off the bride and groom is also quite old with a rich history of fun rituals and traditions. In such a situation, people from the groom’s side get information about the girl and her relatives etc., while people from the bride’s side get information about the groom’s house, work and relatives. In such a situation, today we are going to talk about a village in Bihar, where marriages of boys and girls are not possible. People here give strange arguments regarding its reason.

Boys of Balhpur village do not get married
More than 350 families live in Balhpur Panchayat of Matihani block, about 10 kilometers away from Begusarai district headquarters. Being situated on the banks of the Ganga, the existence of this village came to an end in 1992 due to the erosion of the Ganga. Today the entire population of the village has settled on Matihani Lakhminiya Dam. Many local people told that since 1992 we have neither food nor a house to live. Because of this, even if someone comes here by mistake with a relationship, then in the evening after having breakfast with the relatives, a message comes on the phone that we will not have a relationship at your place.

You have to hide your address for marriage
Umavati Devi of Balhpur village from Local 18 told that she has a 30 year old son. No girl is ready for marriage. Ramsundar Pandit told that when people come for a relationship, they spend up to three to four thousand rupees in the hope that the relationship will be finalized. But late in the evening they send a message that they will not have a relationship at your place. Sumitra Devi told Local 18 that both boys and girls aged between 25 and 30 years are still single. People here say that where Lota is not kept, how will the bride stay there. Rajesh Sah, a resident of this village, told that I got married 3 years ago after hiding my address and living in another village. People here can get married only after hiding their address.
