IIM Ahmedabad PGXP Candidates Received lowest salary offer of 54.8 lakh per annum lowest in last 6 years

Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad Ahmedabad,Lowest Salary Package In Last 6 Years: The issue of low salary and lack of jobs for candidates coming out of IITs had not yet settled down when the salary package offered to the candidates of another prestigious institute has raised new questions. We are talking about IIM Ahmedabad. The candidates of the one-year PGPX program here have been offered the lowest salary in the last 6 years. Not only this, the highest salary offered this time is also the lowest salary package till date.

How much package is offered

IIM Ahmedabad’s One Year MBA Program for Executives (PGPX) is facing new challenges. This time the highest salary package offered is Rs 54.8 lakh per year which is the lowest in the last 6 years. Whereas last year i.e. in the year 2023, the highest maximum earning potential (MEP) was Rs 1.08 crore.

However, there has been an increase in medium MEP this year and it has increased a bit compared to last year. It was 33 lakh in the year 2023 which has gone up to 35 lakh this year.

How has MEP been in the past years

According to media reports, while the medium MEP has increased this year compared to the year 2023, the average MEP between 2018 and 2022 was Rs 70.56 lakh. The job market has been quite challenging for candidates who opt for Executive MBA.

Also know that admission in this course is given only to those candidates who have worked before. To get admission in this one year MBA Executive Program, it is necessary that along with graduation, the candidate should have worked full time somewhere for at least four years. They can apply only if they have this much experience. In such a situation, the low salary package after having work experience is a matter of concern.

So many candidates did not get placement

Out of a total of 147 students, 126 opted for placement and 121 accepted the offer. Whereas 5 students did not get placement at all. This is the first time after 2020 that students here have not got the desired placement. This time a total of 105 recruiters came to the campus, many of whom were participating in the recruitment process for the first time.

After engineering, management also started looking at

In July itself, various media reports said that candidates coming out of IITs are not getting good placements. The economic slowdown that happened after the pandemic is still affecting us. After engineering students, management students are also joining this list.
