IIT Pass Out Students are still struggling to get jobs, what is the reason for not getting placement

Why IIT Students Are Not Getting Placed: Indian Institute of Technology is considered one of the most prestigious institutes in the country. Taking admission here is the dream of the candidates and almost everyone believes that admission in IIT means the career of the candidate is set. After leaving from there, you will get a job with a good salary, companies will accept you and there will be no problem in placement. But the new trend is saying something else.

Did not get placement

According to various media reports, this year the placement of IIT students was very slow. Even 35 to 40 percent of students of big institutes did not get placement. Know that placements in IITs happen in two phases. First in December and second in January and June. This time it happened for the first time that even 100 percent of students of premier institutes like IIT Bombay did not get placement.

From IIT Bombay to Delhi, Kanpur and Kharagpur, the situation of placements has been pathetic for the last two years. Placements are not happening as they used to earlier.

What could be the reason?

If media reports are to be believed then they say that placements are decreasing due to economic slow down. Big companies are struggling financially and this problem is at the global level. Mostly companies from UK and US come for placement of IIT students. This time these companies are not saying yes to the pre-decided packages of the candidates here.

Things don’t work out even after several rounds

After studying from institutes like IIT, the salary structure of the candidates is almost fixed, they do not want to work for less than that. In such a situation, these companies are not ready for pre-decided salary package. Many rounds of talks are held with the candidates, many rounds of negotiations take place, sometimes a solution is reached and sometimes it is not even worked out.

Companies are avoiding over-hiring

In this regard, experts also say that companies are avoiding over-hiring. Some want to come in the end season. It is possible that those who have not been hired yet may get jobs in June. Many times the company’s conditions do not match with the candidates’ conditions, hence the matter gets stuck. Along with this, this slow down has increased since Covid. Looking at all this, a question is arising in the mind that even after doing IIT, will the students struggle for placement?
