Vijay Kumar Aggarwal, owner of Roshan Lal Sweets Shop, told that his shop was started by his grandfather in 1875. Earlier, all the sweets including Gulab Jamun, Laddu and Soan Halwa were made in his shop using desi ghee. After this he gradually started making more items. Now he also makes many types of namkeen.
Pandit Nehru came to Doon School
Vijay Kumar Aggarwal told that when he was 9-10 years old, a big program was organized in the famous Doon School of Dehradun, in which he went with his father. India’s first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru also participated in this program. The sweets from our shop had gone there. Pandit Nehru liked our Emirati very much. Whenever Pandit Nehru came to Dehradun, he used to eat Imarti, Jalebi and Malai Barfi here.
