Imran Khan Party PTI demands immediate resignation of Pakistan CEC Sikandar Sultan Raja claims right to form government


Pakistan Elections 2024: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has alleged large-scale vote rigging in the National Assembly elections held on February 8 in Pakistan. Besides, PTI has been continuously raising questions on the Election Commission regarding the delay in declaring the election results.

Amidst all this, news has come quoting ARY News in which former Prime Minister Imran Khan PTI’s party has demanded the immediate resignation of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikandar Sultan Raja, citing constitutional violations.

A PTI spokesperson has made serious allegations against the members of CEC and Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) of violating the Constitution. For this the party has demanded his resignation. After the election results, PTI has also claimed that if it has got majority in the 2024 general elections, then it has the right to form the government.
PTI calls PDM-2 parties dishonest

According to Pakistani media ARY News, the party alleges that the voters of Pakistan had rejected dishonest parties through their votes in the general elections, but by rigging the elections, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Muttahida Qaumi Movement PDM-2, a coalition government formed by members of Pakistan Peoples Party (MQM) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), is being imposed.

PTI had given indications of forming an alliance with MWM.

PTI leader Barrister Gauhar Ali Khan says that he had already announced to form the government at the Center as well as in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces. For this, PTI had also hinted at forming an alliance with Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM).

Independent candidates ahead on 95 seats

Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has so far released unofficial results for 264 out of 265 NA seats. Out of these, independent candidates are leading on 95 seats while PML-N is leading on 79 seats and PPP is leading on 54 seats.

These parties are also getting victory in the elections

According to the unofficial data of the election monitoring organization, apart from the election results of major parties and independents, MQM-P on 17 seats, IPP and BNP on 2 seats each, JUI-F on 4, PML-Q on 3 and 1 seat each. But MWM, PML-Z, PMAP, PNAP are prominently involved.
