When Machhendra Puri Maharaj was talked to, he said, ‘Today’s sadhus and saints have become accustomed to AC, cars and luxuries. Rather, if you have worn saffron robes, it means living life in the absence of luxuries. But some sadhus and saints do not understand this. If a saint does not do sadhna, then he cannot even connect with God.’
What is the purpose behind this
Baba Machendra Puri tells that there is only one special purpose of this sadhna, that is to save India from impending disasters. For this, first of all, the permission of the respected Guru has to be taken. After that, Maharaj worships Hanuman ji and sits in meditation. He sits in half clothes in the scorching sun for about 2.5 to 3 hours every day. It has been about 15 years since he has been doing this sadhna. When this sadhna is going on, Maharaj does not eat grains.
What is the connection with Lord Hanuman
When Maharaj was asked that a normal person does not want to stand in the sun for even a minute. How does it feel to sit in it for hours, then Machhendra Puri said that he is a devotee of Lord Hanuman. In such a situation, during tapasya, Maharaj feels as if Lord Hanuman is sitting on his lap, so he does not feel the heat at all.
