In this country dogs were eaten like carrots and radishes, thousands of them were killed every year! But…

Dogs are considered to be man’s best and loyal friend. Stories of friendship between man and dog have been famous for centuries. Humans raised dogs since ancient times so that they could protect them. Dogs trusted humans, but humans broke that trust by giving them a terrible death. Dog meat is eaten in some countries of the world (South Korea Dog Meat). China is also one of them. But the country we are talking about today is not China, but another country, where eating dogs like carrots and radishes is very common. Here thousands of dogs were killed every year, but now this will not happen, because dog meat has been banned in this country.

According to the report of Daily Star News website, dog meat was eaten in South Korea for centuries. Every year hundreds of thousands of dogs were killed here. But in January this year, the government of South Korea (Dog meat ban South Korea) passed a bill, after which eating dog meat has been banned here from 7 August. After this rule of the government, about 5600 shops, which used to sell dog meat, are on the verge of closure.

Shopkeepers’ losses will be compensated
Now the government there has decided that it will compensate the shopkeepers for their losses, the cost of shifting to another place or starting another business, and will also provide financial assistance to the meat sellers and restaurant owners. Melanie Ferguson, a travel blogger from Vancouver, Canada, wrote in her blog Postcards and Places in January that when she went to Korea, she ate a dog meat stew called Bosintang, which was the strangest and most controversial dish she had ever eaten.

Travel blogger told the experience of eating meat
She told that when she used to live in South Korea, her Korean friends often teased her that why she had not eaten cat meat till now! So she used to refuse. Then her friends used to tell her that dog meat is eaten in Korea, not cat meat. Then she ate dog meat for the first time there. She ate that dish only once in Seoul and after that never asked anyone to eat it again. Melanie told in her blog that it tasted like beef, which she liked. The meat was a little tough, however, she could smell the dog in that meat, which was not a very strong smell, because the aroma of spices was also present. Then she ate it heartily.
