Parshuram, who has been coming to the Vasant Fair for about 10 years to trade chillies, says that in this fair held on Vasant Panchami in Dausa, dried red chillies are traded the most. Chilli is sold so much here that traders do about 50 percent of their annual business in this fair. In this fair, traders do 50% of their business from this fair. Be it for home use or in hotels, customers also buy whole year’s worth of chillies from here. Parshuram tells that dry red chilli of different quality is available here for Rs 150 to Rs 400 per kg. The specialty is that there is no adulteration of any kind in this chilli. Grind it by hand and use it in the kitchen.

This is the specialty of chilli
Red chillies from Bharatpur and Mathura are sold in this fair. 200 to 300 kg chilli is being consumed daily in the fair. It is said about this chilli that there are more seeds in the chilli here, hence it does not get spoiled for a long time. Its aroma is also quite pungent. On the other hand, seedless chilli is also available here, its rates are low but it does not last long.
