BCCI has issued a statement informing about Sanju Samson being out of the series. Sanju Samson was injured while fielding in the first T20 match against Sri Lanka. Sanju has injured his knee, so he did not even leave Mumbai for Pune with the team. Since Team India is left with no backup wicket-keeper batsman after Sanju’s injury, Jitesh Sharma has been added to the team.

Jitesh Sharma has recently been rewarded for his brilliant performance in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Jitesh Sharma played many important innings in this tournament.
