India Alliance: Member of Congress Working Committee and Lok Sabha Elections Salman Khurshid, a member of the India Alliance Committee, has put forward the party’s opinion regarding seat sharing. He said that talks with Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Janata Dal United (JDU) regarding this will be started from Sunday (07 January).

According to Hindustan Times, he said that talks about seats will start from Sunday and it will start from Delhi and as people keep giving us time, we will keep taking things forward. He further said, “The party leadership has told us what the Congress expects from its allies. So we will know whether we are compatible with each other or not and where we have to negotiate. All these things will become clear when we meet.”

How will AAP and Congress establish coordination in Punjab?

Regarding seat sharing with AAP in Punjab, the former Union Minister said, “We have not yet discussed with the party leadership regarding Punjab. We have been told to leave it for some time. As far as possible, the matter should be clarified by talks with other parties. There are some problems in Punjab and we will try to resolve them only by talking to the Congress leadership.”

What will be Congress’s formula on seat sharing?

Regarding the seat sharing formula, Salman Khurshid said, “The formula will be different in every state because the ground reality is different everywhere. We cannot speak about other parties, this should be in their mind also. Along with all these things, we also have to keep in mind that there is life even after 2024. Yes, 2024 is an important milestone but we are not closing shop in 2024. We hope that we will form the government at the Center with our fellow parties. Every party needs to move forward.”
