India condemns Haryana student Vivek Saini murder in US Accused hit him with hammer


Indian student killed in US: The Embassy of India in Atlanta strongly condemned the attack on a 25-year-old Indian student on Monday (January 29). The student was beaten to death by a person. The embassy said that it is deeply saddened by this cruel incident. The embassy claimed that it provided assistance in repatriating the victim’s body to India. Meanwhile, Saini’s body has reached India, after which his family members performed his last rites.

According to India Today report, the name of the deceased student is Vivek Saini and he had recently completed MBA in America. Saini was murdered by drug addict Julian Faulkner inside a store in Lithonia city of Georgia. According to the report, before this incident, Saini had been helping killer Faulkner for the last few days.

Indian Embassy condemned the incident
The Indian Embassy in Atlanta said on social media platform X that US police officials have arrested the accused in the case and they are investigating the case. The embassy said in the post, “We are deeply saddened by the horrific, cruel and heinous incident that resulted in the death of an Indian student, Vivek Saini. We condemn this attack in the strongest terms. The accused have currently been arrested.” And the matter is being investigated.

Embassy in contact with victim’s family
The statement said that the embassy contacted Saini’s family immediately after the incident and is providing all possible assistance in sending Saini’s mortal remains back to India. For this the embassy is in touch with Saini’s family.

The attacker Faulkner had brutally hit Saini on the head about 50 times with a hammer. This horrific incident was captured on camera. Saini was working part time as a clerk in the store. Other employees told police that they had been sheltering Faulkner for about two days.

Chips were given to eat
Local news channel WSB-TV reported on January 28 that the staff gave him chips to eat, a Coke to drink, water and a jacket to wear. Employees told the news channel that they did not ask Faulkner to leave the store because they knew it was cold outside.

However, on January 16, Saini asked Faulkner to leave the store. According to police, Faulkner attacked Saini with a hammer when he was leaving the store for home.

Did MBA from University of Alabama
Saini went to America two years ago after doing B.Tech in Computer Science from Chandigarh University. He lived in Barwala, Haryana. According to his family, he had recently completed his MBA from the University of Alabama. Saini’s father Gurjit Singh is a farmer by profession.
