India-Philippines: China has started agonizing over India sending the first batch of BrahMos missile to the Philippines. The Chinese army has issued a statement calling it a threat to a third country. BrahMos missile is counted among the fastest supersonic cruise missiles in the world. It is capable of hitting targets from land, air and sea. Now China has said that in defense cooperation between two countries, care should be taken that it should not harm any third party or the regional peace there.
In fact, a deal worth $375 million was signed between India and the Philippines in January 2022 regarding the BrahMos missile, under which India will hand over three batteries, their launchers and related materials along with the BrahMos missile to the Philippines. India handed over the first batch of BrahMos missiles to the Philippines on April 19, after which China was shocked. This is the first export of BrahMos missile from India.
Tension in the South China Sea
India has sent the first batch of BrahMos missile at a time when China is having a dispute with five countries in the South China Sea. Actually, China makes its claim on the South China Sea, on the other hand, Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, Brunei and Taiwan also make their claims. When Chinese Defense Ministry spokesperson Colonel Wu Qian was questioned on this issue, he said, China always keeps in mind that defense cooperation between two countries should not cause harm to the third country.
China protested against America
During this, the Chinese spokesperson strongly opposed America’s deployment of ballistic missiles in the China-Asia Pacific Sea. The Chinese spokesperson said that our stand regarding this is clear and logical. This step of America poses a serious threat to the security of regional countries. This disrupts the peace and stability of the region.
