India vs Australia Delhi Test Match: The second match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2023 being played between India and Australia will be played from February 17 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. Kangaroo opening batsman David Warner’s chances of playing in this test match are very less. At the same time, Australian captain Pat Cummins has indicated from the statement on Warner before the start of the match that the team can give another chance to prove itself.
David Warner was able to score only 11 runs in the Nagpur Test. The year 2022 was also nothing special for Warner in the Test format. In the whole year, he was able to play only one century innings which came in the Boxing-Day Test match against South Africa. David Warner scored an inning of 200 runs in that match.
On the question asked by Pat Cummins about David Warner during the press conference before the start of the Delhi Test match, he defended Warner and said that he will soon be seen in his old form and maybe in the Delhi Test itself. Got to see like this. Warner is such a batsman who is not easy to bowl at all. He works to put pressure on the opposition bowlers.
Cummins further said that I am sure that Warner will definitely be able to do this. You look at the Boxing-Day Test match when he put pressure on the bowlers of the opposition team with his innings. It is not easy for anyone to bowl to him in such a situation. He is batting really well here. I know spin bowling is talked about the most here but facing the new ball is sometimes not easy.
Warner’s Test record in India still very poor
David Warner, part of the Delhi Capitals team in the IPL, will have a better idea of the pitch here than the rest of the team’s batsmen. In such a situation, he will have the best chance to get his form back in this Test series. However, if we look at David Warner’s record in Test format in India so far, he has got to see very bad. He has scored only 399 runs in 9 Test matches at an average of 22.17.
