An influential leader of the Indian-American community gave this information. Encouraged by newly elected President Donald Trump’s recent statement on Bangladesh, Indian-American physician Dr. Bharat Barai expressed confidence that after Trump takes oath as the 47th President of America, he will take action against the South Asian nation Bangladesh over the oppression of Hindu minorities.

Indian-American physician Dr. Bharat Barai said in an interview to PTI that Trump has made a bold statement about Bangladeshi Hindus and the desecration of Hindu temples. “Trump is a courageous man who may consider imposing economic sanctions if the situation does not improve,” he said. Attending the annual Diwali celebrations in Washington, Barai said community members are supporting the Bangladeshi government on possible economic sanctions. Are working on talking to the new administration and Congress to take action against.

Demand to ban export of clothes
Dr. Bharat Barai alleged that the caretaker government of Bangladesh led by Mohammad Yunus is just a puppet controlled by the army. “The army is actually running the country,” he said. He asked, “If their clothes are exported, which is 80 percent of their business. If it is cut, what will the people of Bangladesh eat?” Barai expressed hope that with such pressure, steps can be taken towards stopping atrocities on Hindus and other minorities in Bangladesh. Trump had condemned the attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh in a statement before the general elections held on November 5.
