Let us tell you that for the first time in the Indian Army, a woman officer will become a Brigadier. According to sources, the promotion board for Brigadier may be held around August-September next year. It is noteworthy that after the order of the Supreme Court, in 2020, the Army had given permanent commission to women in all those branches in which they have come under Short Service Commission. In February last year, posting of women officers who got permanent commission in the colonel rank started. According to an officer, after two years in the rank of Colonel, he will be considered for the rank of Brigadier. Not only this, the special promotion board of Brigadier can be set up in the second half of the next year.

Promotion to women officers

Let us tell you that as per the order of the Supreme Court. After this, the Army has till now given permanent commission to 508 women officers from 1992 to 2009 batch. Out of these, 128 women officers were also promoted to the rank of Colonel. According to sources, next year these women officers from 1992 to 1997 batch will be considered for Brigadier rank. Let us tell you that earlier in the Army, this promotion was given to women officers only in Medical Corps, Legal and Education Corps. Because there was permanent commission for women officers in this branch only. But now women officers are eligible for permanent commission in Army Air Defence, Signals, Engineers, Army Aviation, Electronics and Mechanical Engineers, Army Service Corps, Army Ordnance Corps and Intelligence Corps. Understand in simple language that now she can reach any rank of Colonel and above in the branch.

What are the rules changed in the army

It is noteworthy that many important changes have taken place in the army in the last few years. For example, after the decision of the Supreme Court, women officers can go up to the rank above Colonel. There has been an important change in the recruitment process in the army. According to the new rules, recruitment will be done in the government army under the Agneepath scheme. Under which youth will be recruited in the army only for 4 years. At the same time, its process will be different and recruitment in the army will not be done like before.

It is noteworthy that a new uniform of the Indian Army has been made for combat operations. The old army uniform was being used since 2008. Many changes have now been made in the new uniform. Which includes its camouflage pattern and use of new clothes.

Apart from this, earlier there was a system of Chief of Staff Committee in the country. After this, CDS was created in its place, which used to work as coordination between the three armies. For the first time in India, Vipin Rawat was appointed to the post of CDS, who died in a plane crash.
