He played a very important role in liberating it. On this day in 1971, the Indian Navy destroyed the ships of the Pakistan Navy and also attacked the Karachi port and destroyed it. Indian Navy had destroyed the plan of Pakistani Army

In 1971, when East Pakistan was being tortured by West Pakistan. So many victims started entering India from East Pakistan. In such a situation, their number was continuously increasing in India. In view of this, the then Prime Minister of India Indira Gandhi decided to intervene in the matter. Meanwhile, on 3 December 1971, Pakistan Air Force attacked 9 Indian Air Force bases. After this, Indira Gandhi declared these attacks a direct war.

Then the Indian Air Force retaliated against Pakistan but the real work was done by the Indian Navy. After the air attack by Pakistan, the Western Naval Command of the Indian Navy started Operation Trident. Whose command was handed over to the then Vice Admiral SN Kohli. In Operation Trident, ‘Killer Squadron’ was prepared by the Indian Navy which included three missile boats INS Nirghat, INS Nipat and INS Veer. It had surface-to-surface missiles which destroyed Pakistan’s PNS Khyber. The Indian Navy also sank a ship carrying weapons for the Pakistan Army.

Karachi port destroyed

Indian Navy’s INS Nipat blew up a Pakistani Navy ship. So after this they attacked Karachi port with the remaining missiles. In the attack, some missiles were also fired at Kemari oil refinery. The attack was so terrible that the fire kept burning for several days in the Kemari oil refinery near Karachi port. After this, finally Operation Python was carried out. In which INS Vinash, Talwar and Trishul destroyed PNS Dhaka.
