Just a few days ago, Indian Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has successfully conducted the trial of Automatic Train Protection System Kavach 4.0 and now Delhi Mumbai Railway Line is being equipped with Automatic Train Protection System Kavach 4.2. This system will be completely automatic and it will work on modern security system. Which will help in preventing train accidents.

This armor will be installed on more than 10 thousand trains. Often a question comes in the mind of many people that where is the armor installed in the trains. So let us tell you that armor is installed on the engine in the train. And automatic protection system Kavach 4.0 will also be installed on the engine itself. Which will sense the accident in advance and will work to prevent it.

How will Kavach 4.0 work?

Railway’s Kavach 4.0 is a completely automated protection system. It is based on new modern technology. This system will sound Kavach over speed alarm if the speed of the train exceeds the prescribed speed by 2 km per hour. So, if the train exceeds the prescribed speed by 5 km per hour, then automatic brakes will be applied.

If the train reaches a speed of more than 9 km per hour than the prescribed speed, then emergency brakes will be applied automatically. Interlocking has been installed on Kavach System 4.0. Due to which the next signal will reach the engine directly through radio waves. With this, the pilot will be able to read the signal easily even at a speed of 160 km per hour. The pilot will not have to rely on signals on the line.
