Dana Cyclone: The Meteorological Department has given two warnings regarding Storm Dana, they are quite scary, Storm Dana will hit Bengal and Odisha with its full speed on October 23, after which different departments have made arrangements regarding it. In such a situation, Indian Railways has canceled a total of 67 trains due to storm Dana.which will affect millions of passengers. IMD predicted on Monday (October 21, 2024) that the low pressure area over the Bay of Bengal may turn into a severe cyclonic storm by October 23 and reach the coasts adjacent to Odisha and West Bengal the next day. Due to the arrival of Cyclone Dana, there is a possibility of heavy rain in both the states for at least three days. The depression forming over the Bay of Bengal in the Middle East is very likely to turn into a cyclonic storm tomorrow, after which it will move in the west and north direction and hit the coastal areas of Odisha and West Bengal. How dangerous can this be? This can be estimated only from its landfall speed. According to IMD, at the time of landfall, this storm will enter both the states at a speed of 100-120 km per hour.

According to the Meteorological Department, if Cyclone Dana hits the coastal areas of Odisha and West Bengal, flood-like situations may arise in the nearby low-lying areas. There may also be a problem of water logging in urban areas, hence the Meteorological Department has advised people to follow traffic advisory. Along with this, due to heavy rains and strong winds, landslides or mud slides can also be seen. Cyclone Dana can also damage crops. In view of this danger, various arrangements are being made by the administration.
