Indian Railways Is Working On A Super App That Will Merge All Services In One

Railway Super App: Indian Railways works like the lifeline of Indians. Every day millions of people travel from one place to another through it. Indian Railways is working on a new super app to provide customers with train ticket booking, train tracking, food ordering, complaining and many other services at one place. The specialty of this app will be that in it you will get all the services of Railways at one place. You will not have to keep different apps in your mobile like now. A government official said that the IT wing of Railways, CRIS, will look after this project and will also execute it.

It will cost more than Rs 90 crore

Other services like Rail Madad, UTS, National Train Inquiry System, Portrait, Vigilant, TMS for inspection operations, IRCTC Rail Connect, IRCTC e-Catering, IRCTC Air etc. will be integrated in the new super app. With this app, crores of railway users will not have to download separate mobile apps and they will be able to avail all the services at one place. This will not only improve the user experience but will also make it easier for the Railways to carry out many tasks. It will cost around Rs 90 crore to make this super app of Railways and it can be run at this cost only for 3 years. That means, as it is used further, its cost will also increase.

More than half of the bookings are being done through IRCTC app.

Of the total bookings received by Railways in the financial year 2023, about 5,60,000 bookings (more than half) were received through the IRCTC app. This shows how much people use this app. Now Railways is going to provide all the services at one place so that more users will connect with the app.
