Indian Sarai Act Free water and urinating facility will be available in 5 star hotels

Imagine you are going somewhere and you urinate in the middle of the way. In such a situation, you can either stop your vehicle and urinate on the roadside or you can stop the vehicle at a place where there is a facility to urinate. Now because of Swachh Bharat, you cannot urinate on the road, so you will have to stop your car at a place where there is facility to urinate.

But if the first 5 star hotel comes on your way, would you stop there and go to that luxurious hotel just to pee? Probably won’t go. But if we say that you should go… because Indian law gives you the right to do so, then what would you say. Let us tell you today about the law related to this.

What is the law related to this

This law is called Indian Sarai Act. This is a law made by the British. This law was made in 1867. Actually, “Free Access” is mentioned in Section 7 (2) of the Indian Sarai Act. This means that in case of urination any person can go to any hotel or restaurant and use its washroom. For this he does not need to pay a single rupee to the hotel. The most important thing is that this rule applies generally to all, be it a 5 star hotel or a normal restaurant.

Law is also related to water

This law not only gives the right to toilet, but the mention of “Free Access” in Section 7 (2) of the Indian Sarai Act also mentions the right to water. That means, if you are thirsty then under this law you can go to any hotel or restaurant and ask for free water to drink. The hotel staff can never refuse you for this.

What if someone refuses

If any hotel owner or restaurant owner stops you from using these facilities, then action can be taken against him under Section 14 of the Sarai Act. This information is also available on the website of the Central Government.
