On October 23, a division bench of 9 judges, while giving its verdict on this, said that the states have the right to make laws in this matter. You also know industrial alcohol by the name of isopropyl alcohol or denatured alcohol. Talking about the chemical structure of industrial alcohol, it is C₃H₈O. It is primarily used for cleaning and disinfection in industrial settings.
In simple language, the alcohol which is used in the lab is called industrial alcohol. Apart from this, there is an industrial alcohol, ethanol C₂H₅OH. It is often used in making poisonous liquor. State governments want to make laws regarding this, so that deaths due to poisonous liquor can be prevented. While normal alcohol is used for drinking, industrial alcohol is used for other purposes. Like- as a cleaning agent. There are many products in the market which are used to clean things. Only industrial alcohol is used in making them. Apart from this, industrial alcohol is also used as a base for mixing many types of chemicals. Sometimes it is used as an antiseptic. Industrial alcohol is also used in the after shave you apply after shaving your beard.
