A six-year-old innocent boy, who went missing from home on the night of May 13 in village Nagla Bihari of Sahpau area, was found 10 hours later in a dry well on the roadside, about 800 meters away from the village. The police came to the police station with the child and interrogated his parents. Due to the child’s frequently changing statements, the police took the stepfather into custody on the basis of suspicion, while sent the mother and child home.
Six-year-old Krishna, son of Bablu, resident of village Nagla Bihari, was roaming outside the house after having dinner at around 8 pm on May 13. When his mother came out to call him at 8.30, he was not outside. He looked around and then told the villagers. The villagers also started searching for him. The villagers informed the police about the child’s disappearance. The police also reached the village and started searching for the child. Kotwali in-charge Sunil Kumar Verma informed the higher officials of the district about the missing child. Along with ASP Dr. Ashok Kumar Singh, forensic team and dog squad also reached the spot. Everyone started searching for the child. In case the child was not found, the officer and the team from the district went back.
On May 14, at around 6.30 am, teacher Mahavir Singh, resident of village Kukargawan, was going to school by bike. Suddenly his bike ran out of petrol near a well on the Kukargawan and Nagla-Bihari link road. During this time, when the teacher heard the voice of a child crying and shouting, he started looking here and there. When the voice came again, he looked into the well and saw the child crying. As soon as he saw the child, he called out to the villagers. A person descended into the well with the help of a rope and brought the child up with it tied on his back. The child had injuries on his head and other body parts.
Police also reached the spot. The police came to the police station with the child’s mother Kusuma, stepfather and the child and started interrogating them. During interrogation the child was repeatedly changing his views. Sometimes he said that his father had pushed him into the well and sometimes he said that his father took him there and somehow he fell into that well. Now the police is investigating this matter from many points. There was a large crowd of people at the police station.
