The child for whom wishes were made, wandered everywhere. Now the same child started feeling like a burden to the family. Sadly, the grandmother handed over her 4 years and 10 months old grandson to the Child Welfare Committee. Now after 22 days, grandmother’s affection awakened and she appealed to the committee to take the child home.

Committee member Betal Singh said that on March 1, 2024, the child’s father had given a written request to hand over the child to the committee. On April 30, the grandmother and parents presented the child before the committee. Grandmother said that the child belonged to her elder son and daughter-in-law. If the younger daughter-in-law did not have a child, if the elder daughter-in-law had twins, one child was given to the younger one. But, when there was a fight between the younger son and the daughter-in-law, the younger daughter-in-law left the child and the house. Younger son takes drugs. I am elderly so I cannot take care of the child.

Committee members aroused grandmother’s affection

Child Welfare Committee member Hema Kulshreshtha said that the committee members counselled the grandmother and the child’s real parents. But they refused to keep the child, saying the child is mentally weak. But when the grandmother came to meet the child, she was counselled. This changed the grandmother’s heart, and now she has requested to take her grandson back.
