New Delhi. The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has directed the Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) to look into the complaint in Sabhapur Extension area of north-east Delhi. The tribunal has asked DPCC to ascertain the factual position regarding alleged illegal operations of various ready mix concrete (RMC) plants and take corrective action. The green body was hearing a petition. It was said that the RMC plants causing air and noise pollution were running in violation of environmental rules.
The bench of NGT Chairman Justice Prakash Srivastava said in the order that first of all the Pollution Board will investigate the matter. Apart from this, the correct factual situation will be ascertained at the ground level. Then will take appropriate corrective action. A bench comprising judicial member Justice Arun Kumar Tyagi and expert member A Senthil Vel asked the petitioner to provide a comprehensive complaint with all supporting materials to the member secretary of the committee. Disposing of the petition, the tribunal said that if the allegations are found to be true, necessary corrective and punitive action will be taken within three months from the date of receipt of the complaint.
