Hanging In Iran: The Iranian government has hanged 4 people on charges of helping Israel’s intelligence agency Mossad. News agency Reuters gave this information on Friday quoting Iran’s Mizan news agency.
Iranian news agency Mizan said that the country’s Revolutionary Guard had informed about the arrest of people associated with the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad. These people used to steal personal and government information and pass it on to the Israeli intelligence agency. In such a situation, all four accused were hanged on Friday morning. It is noteworthy that Iran and Israel are staunch enemies but due to the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas, the tension between the two countries has increased further.
Tension has increased because of Hezbollah
It is known that Iran-backed Hezbollah is supporting Hamas in the current war in Lebanon. Since the beginning of the war, Hezbollah militants have been targeting Israel along the border, including through airstrikes and shelling. Many Hezbollah terrorists and leaders have been killed in Israeli retaliation and attacks in areas bordering Lebanon.
Even minors are hanged in Iran
Along with this, Iran is also accused of providing shelter to Yemen’s Houthi rebels, who are targeting ships in the Red Sea. Yemen’s Houthi rebels are targeting merchant ships in the Red Sea and Arabian Sea to show their support for the Palestinians. However, death penalty is nothing new in Iran. Just last December 16, an agent working for Mossad was given death sentence. Earlier, in December last year also, 4 people were hanged on charges of working for Mossad. Not only this, minors are also hanged here. According to one figure, at least 68 minors have been hanged in Iran since 2010.
