iran israel war these two countries were friends at a time know what cause enmity between them

Iran-Israel War: On one hand, the whole world is worried about the war going on between Russia and Ukraine. So now the fierce war between two more countries has brought the whole world to the brink of the Third World War. The ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran has now become quite fierce. Iran launched a missile attack on Israel late on the night of Tuesday, 1 October. More than 180 missiles were fired from Iran towards Israel.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said the attack was in response to the deaths of former Hamas chief Ismail Haniya, Hezbollah head Hassan Nasrallah and IRGC commander Abbas Nilfiroshan. Both the countries are attacking each other every day. But do you know that these two countries were once friends of each other. Then what happened that both of them became each other’s sworn enemies?

Iran and Israel were friends for many years

Israel came into existence in the year 1948. David Ben-Gurion became the first Prime Minister of Israel. The then US President Harry S. Truman recognized Israel as a new nation. So in the year 1949, Turkey recognized Israel. After this, today Iran has become the sworn enemy of Israel. Who wants to erase the existence of Israel.

That Iran also recognized Israel. Iran was the second Muslim country after Türkiye to recognize Israel. Everything was going well between Iran and Israel. There was no enmity of any kind, there was no attack. Not only this, when Saddam Hussein was in power in Iraq and he attacked Iran, during that time Israel had provided weapons and other weapons to Iran.

Where did the enmity arise?

Islamic revolution took place in Iran in the year 1979. After this Iran was declared an Islamic Republic. And Ayatollah Khomeini took over the reins of Iran. Before this, Iran was ruled by the Pahlavi dynasty. Which was considered a major ally of America in the Middle East at that time and this was the reason that when Israel became a new country in 1948, Iran also recognized it. David Ben-Gurion, the first head of Israel, also became a good friend of Iran.

But Ayatollah Khomeini’s government refused to recognize Israel. And increased hatred against Israel and America in the country. Ayatollah Khomeini broke all relations with the Israeli government and also banned the passports of Israeli citizens. So the Israeli Embassy in the capital Tehran was seized and handed over to Palestine Liberation Organization i.e. PLO. This is where the enmity started.

Dominance in the region and nuclear weapons also worsened the situation

Relations between Israel and Iran deteriorated further when news emerged that Iran was trying to develop nuclear weapons. Israel did not want to let Iran become a nuclear-rich country by doing anything. Because Israel did not want any country in the Middle East to have nuclear weapons. In 2012, Iranian nuclear scientist Mohsin Fakhrizadeh was murdered. Iran had also accused Israel’s intelligence agency Mossad of this murder.

At the same time, the enmity between the two countries also increased regarding supremacy in the region. Saudi Arabia’s power in the region was very high. In such a situation, Iran deepened its enmity with Israel to increase its own supremacy. So that Iran can give the message to the whole world that Iran is the biggest well-wisher of Muslims. And for this, Iran supported Hamas and Houthi rebels. To serve Muslim interests, hostility towards Israel increased.
