Ebrahim Raisi Helicopter Crash: The helicopter carrying Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi met with an accident on Sunday (May 19). This accident occurred in East Azerbaijan, after which a rescue team was sent there. There were three helicopters in the convoy of the President of Iran, two of which were carrying ministers and officials and they reached their destination safely. According to the report, the President was also accompanied in the helicopter by Sayyid Mohammad-Ali Al-Hashem, Juma and Jamaat of Tabriz and Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdullahian.

According to Iranian media, the accident occurred near the city of Jolfa, located on the border with Azerbaijan, about 600 kilometers (375 miles) northwest of the capital Tehran. Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi was with President Ilham Aliyev to inaugurate a dam in Azerbaijan on Sunday. This is the third dam that both the countries have built on the Aras River. This happened at a time when news of increasing tension in the Middle East is emerging every day.

According to the state TV report, rescue workers were trying to reach the accident site, but due to bad weather, the rescue teams were not able to reach there. According to the report, an alert was issued regarding heavy rain and fog along with winds in the area where Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi was. It is also possible that due to this the hard landing of the President’s plane was made.

Ibrahim Raisi won the election of the President of Iran in the year 2021. In 1988, after the Iran-Iraq war, America had banned Ibrahim Raisi due to his involvement in hanging thousands of political prisoners.
