Iran Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei anti-India remarks Indian Foreign Ministry reacted strongly

Ali Khamenei on India: India’s Foreign Ministry has given a befitting reply to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. In its statement issued on Monday, the Foreign Ministry said that before making any comment against India, Iran needs to first look into its own affairs. Recently, in a social media post, Ali Khamenei had criticized India. He had put India in the category of those countries where Muslims are being oppressed. During this, he also appealed to Muslims around the world to unite to protect the Muslim population.

In his post, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei counted India along with Myanmar and Gaza. Khamenei has made such a comment when he himself is facing criticism worldwide for the suppression of Sunni Muslims and ethnic minorities. Now India’s Foreign Ministry has retaliated on this. The Foreign Ministry said that Iran should look at its own record before making such a comment. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said in a social media post that ‘We strongly condemn the comment made by Iran’s Supreme Leader regarding the Muslims of India. This is based on misinformation and is not acceptable. Countries commenting on minorities are advised to look within themselves first.’

Iranian women are bound by hijab law
Iran is criticized worldwide for human rights issues, especially those of Sunni Muslims, ethnic minorities and women. Within Iran, minority Sunni Muslims have been denied the right to build mosques in the country’s major city Tehran. Apart from this, they have to face severe discrimination in government and religious institutions. Ethnic minorities like Kurds, Baluchi and Arabs in Iran are victims of economic and cultural oppression. Iranian women are living under the vigilance of strict hijab law and morality law. In Iran, women are imprisoned, fined and given corporal punishment for violating the hijab law.

The graph of executions increased within Iran
Iran, which shows the mirror to the world, has itself got a stain on its political face. In recent years, the number of executions in Iran has been increasing continuously, the United Nations has expressed concern over this. Recently, a report from the United Nations stated that in the last 8 months, more than 400 people have been sentenced to death in Iran. In the month of August alone, 81 people have been hanged. Experts appointed by the United Nations Human Rights Council said that ‘we are concerned about such a huge increase in the death penalty.’

Along with this, such laws have been made within Iran, which has taken away the right of women to freedom. Due to these laws, the condition of women’s education, employment and personal freedom in Iran is very poor. International organizations often criticize Iran on these issues.
