The Global Fire Index has presented comparative figures regarding the military strength of both the countries. This figure has been given on the basis of military capabilities of the year 2024. According to this, Iran’s army is ranked 14th among 145 countries of the world, while Israel’s army is ranked 17th.
Global Fire Power has mainly compared the two countries on 8 points, on the basis of which Iran is ahead in 6 cases and Israel is ahead in 2 cases. At present, the military strength between the two countries cannot be assessed based on rough statistics alone. To understand the real power of both the countries, it is necessary to calculate the weapons possessed by both the countries.
Iran has more soldiers
If we compare the two countries in terms of population, Iran is at 17th position in the world in terms of population, while Israel is at 92nd position. Talking about the army, Iran has 6 lakh 10 thousand soldiers, whereas Israel has only 1 lakh 70 thousand soldiers. Talking about reserve force, Iran has 3 lakh 50 thousand reserve soldiers, while Israel has 4 lakh 65 thousand reserve soldiers. Israeli army is ahead in this matter. Talking about paramilitary forces, Iran is ahead in this, Iran has 2 lakh 20 thousand paramilitary forces, whereas Israel has only 35 thousand paramilitary forces.
Israel ahead of Iran in terms of air force
Despite having a smaller army, Israel’s army is ahead in terms of defense budget. Iran’s defense budget is around $10 billion, while Israel’s defense budget is more than $24 billion. If we talk about total aircraft, Israel is ahead in this matter too. Israel has 612 aircraft, while Iran has 551 aircraft. If we talk about fighter planes, Israel has 241 fighter planes, while Iran has only 186 fighter planes. Apart from this, Israel has 146 helicopters and Iran has 129 helicopters. If we talk about attack helicopters, the Israeli Air Force has 48 helicopters and Iran has only 13 attack helicopters.
Iran ahead in terms of navy and army
Iran is ahead of Israel in terms of tank capacity. Iran has 1996 tanks, while Israel has 1370 tanks. Iran has 65,765 armored vehicles, while Israel has 43,407 armored vehicles. Iran has 580 automatic cannons, while Israel has 650 automatic cannons. Iran has 775 mobile rocket projectors, while Israel has 150 mobile rocket projectors. Talking about naval power, Iran has 19 submarines, whereas Israel has only 5 submarines. Israel is ahead in the matter of patrol ships.
