Here a man tried to mix poison in his niece’s reception dinner, but the chef caught him red-handed, thereby averting a major accident. A complaint has been registered in this matter at Panhala Police Station and the police is investigating the matter.

Accused uncle’s anger and niece’s marriage
The name of the accused is Mahesh Jotiram Patil, who is the uncle of the victim’s niece. The victim was in a love relationship with a young man from the same village. A few days ago, the young man asked uncle Mahesh for permission to marry his niece, but the uncle opposed it. After this, the niece married her lover, ignoring her uncle’s wishes. Uncle Mahesh Patil got angry at this and thought of taking revenge from his niece.

Attempt to mix poison in the welcome ceremony
After the niece’s marriage, her in-laws had organized a reception in the village on Tuesday. Hundreds of people participated in this function and food arrangements were also made. On Tuesday morning at around quarter to eleven, accused uncle Mahesh Patil reached the function with medicine in his hand. Without informing anyone, he started mixing poison in the food. As soon as the chef saw this, he protested. After this, the accused uncle beat up the chef and ran away from the spot.

Police investigation and search for the accused
There was an uproar when information about poisonous food being mixed in the hall. Navardev Mula’s uncle Sanjay Patil lodged a complaint at Panhala police station. Police have seized food samples and are now investigating what kind of poisonous medicine the accused had mixed in the food. The accused is still absconding and his search is on.
