Israel Iran Tensions: The United Nations Nuclear Monitoring Committee is now worried about Iran’s nuclear facility. The United Nations is concerned that Israel could target Iran’s nuclear sites. On the other hand, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will start inspecting Iranian nuclear facilities again from Tuesday.
A key Israeli army official said on Monday that it will soon respond to the drone and missile attack launched by Iran on Israel on Saturday. Earlier on April 1, there was an air attack on Iran’s embassy in Damascus. During this, Iran had accused Israel of air attack. Israel neither accepted nor rejected this attack. Now after Israel’s threat, the United Nations has appealed to both the countries to maintain peace.
Ongoing inspection of Iran’s nuclear facilities
International Atomic Energy Agency Director General Rafael Grossi said Iran had shut down its nuclear facilities on Sunday for “security reasons.” It was reopened on Monday, after which it is expected that IAEA inspectors will inspect the Iranian nuclear facility from Tuesday. Grossi told reporters in New York, ‘We are going to start work again tomorrow. This has no impact on our inspection activity.
Fear of Israeli attack
When Grossi was asked about the possibility of an Israeli attack on Iranian nuclear facilities, he said, ‘We are always concerned about that possibility. He has urged ‘extreme restraint’. Indeed, the IAEA regularly inspects the enrichment plants at Iran’s main nuclear facilities, which are at the heart of the country’s nuclear program. On the other hand, Iran says that its nuclear program is completely peaceful, but Western powers accuse Tehran of trying to make a nuclear bomb.
