Israel Strike Hits Beirut: According to Israeli media, the bunker was attacked during a meeting of senior leaders of Hezbollah. There are also reports of the death of Hashem Saifuddin, the new head of Hezbollah and brother of Hassan Nasrallah, although this has not been officially confirmed yet.
Israeli officials told The New York Times that they targeted several other people in the attack, including Hashem Saifuddin, who as head of Hezbollah’s Executive Council oversees the group’s political operations.
According to Reuters report, Saifuddin is included in the Jihad Council, which manages military operations. Saifuddin appears to be Nasrallah’s cousin. It was declared a terrorist by the US State Department in 2017.

Claims himself a descendant of Prophet Mohammed
Hashem Saifuddin is also a cleric like his brother Nasrallah, who claims to be a descendant of Prophet Mohammed and for this he used to wear a black turban. He was usually seen strongly presenting the extremist stance of Hezbollah in his meetings. Saifuddin was recently present at an event, where he told the Palestinian fighters that our guns and our rockets are with you. Saifuddin has been critical of American policy.
