Arab and Islamic Countries Conference: Amidst the long-running tension in the Middle East, an important conference was held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Monday (11 November 2024). In this joint conference of Arab and Islamic countries, there was a lot of discussion about the attacks being carried out by Israel on Gaza and Lebanon. During this, everyone said in one voice that the attacks in Gaza and Lebanon should stop.
Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman gave the first speech at the conference. Condemning Israel’s genocide in Gaza, he said, “There should be an immediate end to the war in Lebanon and Gaza.” After this, other guests who came to the conference presented their views and all of them termed Israel’s attacks as wrong.
Abdul Abbas demands full membership in UN
In the conference, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas expressed Palestine’s right on the Gaza Strip. “The Gaza Strip is an integral part of Palestine and any future solution must include the West Bank and the Gaza Strip,” he said. Apart from this, Abbas also called for granting full membership of Palestine as a nation in the United Nations.
Egyptian President condemns Israeli attacks
At the same time, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi said that his country ‘condemns the systematic killing campaign of Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip. His country will be against every plan that is brought with the aim of ending the Palestinian issue, whether it is to displace the local people or to turn the Gaza Strip into a deserted area. These schemes will not be accepted under any circumstances.
Hamas made this special demand from Arab countries
Apart from this, regarding Lebanon, the Egyptian President said, his country promises to provide every help to our brothers in Lebanon. On the other hand, Hamas on Sunday (10 November 2024) had appealed to Arab and Islamic countries to form an alliance so that all the rights of the Palestinian people can be protected. Hamas has also demanded that Arab countries expel Israeli ambassadors from their countries. Hamas leader Osama Hamdan has appealed that the leaders of Arab and Islamic countries in Riyadh should break ties with the ‘Jewish State’.
