Jammu and Kashmir Election 2024 Pakistan Criticized India In Organization Of Islamic Cooperation oic meeting over article 370 abrogation

Before the upcoming Jammu Kashmir assembly elections, Pakistan has started showing its colours. Elections are to be held in Jammu Kashmir on 18 September, 25 September and 1 October.

Meanwhile, Pakistan has spewed venom against India in front of 57 Muslim countries at the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) meeting held in Cameroon on 29 and 30 August.

Pakistan Foreign Secretary Muhammad Cyrus Sajjad Qazi, drawing the attention of the OIC to the Kashmir issue, said that India removed Article 370 from Kashmir in 2019, due to which tension has increased between India and Pakistan.

Muhammad Qazi criticized India’s action on Kashmir and said that it is against the rules of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC). Along with this, Mohammad Qazi also demanded the release of separatist leaders.

Pakistan was not satisfied with this and Muhammad Qazi told the OIC that India is trying to strengthen its power by illegally occupying Jammu and Kashmir. This is creating an atmosphere of fear and threat.

There was also a response from OIC on this issue. OIC issued a declaration among all those present in the meeting saying that according to the UNSC resolution, peace and stability in South Asia depends on the resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute.

A few days before this, India’s Foreign Minister Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar had said that Article 370 has done its work in Jammu and Kashmir and the time for talks with Pakistan is also over. On this, a statement came from Pakistan. It said, ‘Such claims are not only misleading, but dangerously misleading, because they clearly ignore the ground realities. India’s unilateral action in Jammu and Kashmir cannot and will not change this reality.’
