Jammu And Kashmir Police Indicate Legal Action Against Terrorist Syed Salahuddin | JAMMU


Jammu and Kashmir News: Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh on Saturday (December 31) indicated that action could be taken against Syed Salahuddin, the Pakistan-based supreme commander of Hizbul Mujahideen. Along with this, he told that the dossiers of all the local terrorists operating from across the border have almost been prepared.

He rejected the statement of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) President Mehbooba Mufti that hundreds of youths are lodged in jails. Along with this, strict anti-terrorist laws like Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) have been mercilessly imposed on them for mere ‘small things’. He said that this is a personal perception. We are ready for any type of enquiry.

What did the Director General of Police say?

When Singh was asked that the way the house of Jaish-e-Mohammed’s Pakistan-based commander Ashiq Nengroo in South Kashmir and the extended part of the house of Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Ghulam Nabi Khan alias ‘Aamir Khan’ were demolished. Is the police planning a similar action against India’s most wanted terrorist Salahuddin. In response, he said that that day is not far.

The police chief said that many of them were earlier sitting in Pakistan and were carrying out terrorist activities. They were not brought under the purview of certain legal provisions. Along with this, 50 vehicles used to carry terrorists and weapons have been seized. 28 houses and other buildings used for sheltering terrorists were also sealed.

We have complimented crime handling capabilities

He said that the Anti-Terrorism Investigation Agency is now more than a year old. It has done a stellar job in investigating criminal activities, especially cases registered under UAPA. He said that we have increased the capabilities to deal with crime. When it was found that UAPA cases increased, we have constituted District level Special Investigation Units in Jammu and Kashmir divisions to expedite the investigation of UAPA cases.

Bulldozer will be run only in selected action

On the use of bulldozers to demolish properties belonging to terrorists, Singh said bulldozers were used only in selective operations. Where necessary, we will use machines only.
