Jammu Kashmir Assembly Election 2024 Farooq Abdullah Target Modi Government said Peace should be without troops

Jammu Kashmir Assembly Election 2024: All the parties are busy making strategies for the assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir. Meanwhile, National Conference President Farooq Abdullah on Thursday (September 5) targeted the Modi government at the center. He said that there should be peace in Kashmir without any armed forces on the streets.

When India Today asked former CM and National Conference President Farooq Abdullah during an interview whether normalcy has returned to Jammu and Kashmir, he said, “How many soldiers do you have here? How many forces do you have? Walk on the streets and see how well armed they are. Is this peace? Peace should be without these soldiers.”

‘I want full statehood’

During this, Farooq Abdullah advocated for restoration of statehood to the region ahead of assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir. He took a dig at Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha. Abdullah said that I want full statehood. Immediately. Why should we remain under the Viceroy of Delhi? He can order anything. He can change anything.

‘National Conference’s alliance with Congress is not a compulsion’

The former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir made this comment when he was asked whether the alliance with Congress will help in restoring the state status of Jammu and Kashmir after the assembly elections? On this, Farooq Abdullah said that his party’s alliance with Congress is not a compulsion but the need of the hour for the development of Jammu and Kashmir and restoration of the state status of the Union Territory.

Has the central government controlled terrorism?

National Conference President Farooq Abdullah fiercely targeted the central government. He said that they have reduced our stature. Since India became independent, I have never seen any state other than Jammu and Kashmir being made a union territory. He said that I want to ask them whether they were saying that Article 370 is responsible for terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir. Have they controlled terrorism? It has been 5 years since they had complete control over the state.

‘BJP is trying to divide the country on religious basis’

Former Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah said that BJP is trying to divide the country on religious basis. He said that my problem is with the things they are doing now. The way they are trying to separate people on religious basis.
