Anantnag Encounter: After Srinagar, encounter continues between terrorists and security forces at two places in Anantnag, South Kashmir on Saturday (2 October 2024). Security forces have killed a terrorist in an encounter in Kokarnag area. Apart from this, another encounter took place between security forces and terrorists in Kachwan of Anantnag. Sources said that 2 Foreign Terrorists (FT) have been killed in the encounter. The news of presence of three terrorists at the encounter site has come to light. 19 RR and 7 Para are engaged in the operation.
Earlier on Saturday, there was an encounter between security forces and terrorists in Khanyar area of Srinagar. After receiving information about the presence of terrorists, the security forces cordoned off the Khanyar area and started a search operation in the morning. During this, the terrorists opened fire on the security forces, after which the security forces also retaliated and the search operation turned into an encounter.
Officials said that firing is going on in Srinagar between security forces and terrorists, but so far there is no news of any casualty from either side.
Earlier on Monday (28 October 2024), terrorists opened fire on an army vehicle in Akhnoor area of Jammu and Kashmir, after which an encounter started there. After this, a search operation was conducted by cordoning off the area, for which additional security forces were sent to the area.
