Jammu and Kashmir: Terrorists abducted two soldiers in Shangas area of Kokernag in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir, but one of them somehow managed to escape while the other one is still missing. Security forces are busy searching for the missing soldier. The soldier who was kidnapped by the terrorists was from the Territorial Army. This incident has happened in Jammu and Kashmir at a time when the results of the assembly elections were released yesterday i.e. on 8 October 2024.
Earlier in August 2020, terrorists had kidnapped Territorial Army soldier Shakir Manzoor Wage in Kashmir, five days after which the family found his clothes near the house. He had gone missing near his home in Harman, Shopian, South Kashmir.
5 days ago 2 terrorists killed in Kupwara
Earlier, security forces had foiled an infiltration attempt on the Line of Control (LoC) in Gugaldhar in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir. During this time, two terrorists were killed by the army and police. The Indian Army had told that on October 4, 2024, the Army and Police noticed a suspicious activity, after which a joint operation was started. During this time some terrorists started firing. Two terrorists were killed in this encounter. Security forces had recovered a large quantity of arms and ammunition from the terrorists.
Terrorist activity has been seen in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir for the past several days, on which security forces have also taken action. In August, security forces had arrested three associates of terrorists in Bijbehara area of Anantnag district. During the operation, security forces had recovered a pistol, a magazine, 29 bullets and two hand grenades from the possession of the arrested associates.
