His real name is Loknath Reddy, who came from Kalavai village, 50 km from Bengaluru. He started his journey to give the people of Jamshedpur a unique taste of South Indian food. 35 years ago, when he started his business, 6 idlis were available for 1 rupee and 1 dosa for 5 rupees. Today, even though the prices have increased-one idli is 10 rupees and dosa is 35 rupees but the taste of ‘Anna Dosa’ still remains amazing.
Specialty of Anna Dosa
Their regular dosas and idlis are not limited to this; the ‘egg dosa’ is especially popular here. It is a very special combination, which is not available anywhere else in Jamshedpur. Loknath Reddy mixes rice, urad dal, semolina and sugar in his special dosa batter. After this, the dosa is prepared by adding two eggs, onions, tomatoes and a special South Indian masala. This special egg dosa costs only Rs 50.
Anmol Dubey, who is a regular customer here, says that he has been eating dosa at this shop since childhood and even now he does not forget to come here while going to college. According to him, this unique combination of egg dosa will not be found anywhere else in Jamshedpur.
The ‘Anna Dosa’ shop is located near Hotel Mini Punjab on NH 33 highway. It is open from 8 am to 1 pm, where people come every day to enjoy delicious dosa-idli.
