On the night of 29th December, unknown thieves cut the shutter of a jeweler’s shop and stole jewelery worth lakhs on Jalesar Road in Kotwali Hathras Gate area. The thieves took away the cupboard full of jewelery kept in the shop. This audacious incident created panic in the police. Police station Hathras Gate, dog squad and forensic team reached the spot. Police are scanning CCTV footage of nearby shops to identify the thieves. A case has also been registered in this matter.

Rahul Rajkumar Verma, resident of Bhatta Wali Gali of Sadar Kotwali area, has a shop in the name of Bholashankar Jewelers on Jalesar Road. Like everyday, he closed the shop with his brother Hridesh Verma on the evening of 29th December and went home. In the morning the neighbors informed him that his shop had been stolen. He reached the shop and was shocked to see the sight there. The goods of the shop were scattered here and there. Rahul told that the thieves cut the shutter of the shop and stole the cupboard kept inside. There was about one and a half kilos of silver and 20 grams of gold in the cupboard. Its price was around two lakh rupees. On information, the area police reached the spot along with the dog squad and forensic team.

There were no CCTVs installed in the jeweler’s shop. Due to this, the circumstances of the incident could not be clarified. The police have now started scanning the CCTV installed in nearby shops. Police have started scanning the night CCTVs of many shops and buildings on Jalesar Road.

Thieves took away the cupboard when the lock could not be broken

Saraf’s jewelery was kept in the cupboard kept in the shop. Since the cupboard had three locks, the thieves failed to break the lock of the cupboard and took away the cupboard itself.
